Any student, faculty, or staff member of Blue Ridge Community College during the current academic year is eligible to submit work.
We accept poetry, fiction, essays, and other creative written works less than 2,000 words. We accept high resolution images of photographs, paintings, sculpture, etc. All submissions must be original works to which you own the copyright. By submitting, you grant 540 permission to publish the work electronically and/or in print.
The deadline for submissions is midnight on March 13, 2011. Notifications of receipt and acceptance will be sent via email.
Email your submission or inquiry to 540mag@gmail.com. It is helpful to attach your written work, rather than pasting it into the body of the message.

What is 540 and who are we?
540 is Blue Ridge Community College's literary arts magazine. It features poetry, short fiction, essays, and artwork--all by BRCC students, faculty, and staff. If you have something to contribute, please read the next post for rules and procedures.
We are the students and instructor of Art 284, Computer Graphics II, a course at Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave, Virginia. The course teaches intermediate graphic design and desktop publishing. We are responsible for promoting, designing, and publishing 540.
